Got's me a 2025 NT1100!!!!

Put this on UK NT site

Does anyone else think where the badge is at, HARDLY ANYBODY can see it? A lame way to display, a slight gloss black on plastic black. Honda had no problem displaying there Honda emblem with an inserted nameplate. That's what they should have done to show the CC's. So I used blue painters tape, pressed into recess, then used Exacto knife to cut out then spray. I used florescent orange, almost looks burnt orange. Anybody could use their choice
Great idea, David!! Looks good!!

Went to Tail of Dragon Sunday 7th. Nice cool day, no rain. Used DCT Sport 2 mode. It's a hoot to ride. Total miles for day was 577, 12.75 hr trip. Also got up to BRP, at highest point.

Did the Dragon, at the end, turned around, got straightened out, it's a slight uphill, remember it's in Sport 2, got a slight front wheel lift after full throttle. It has traction control to prevent wheelies, but a little wheel lift was exhilarating. Had to show off to the crowd of bikers, with that deep baritone exhaust sound when full throttle is applied!!

With the DCT, when riding twisties, nice to keep your palm on the grip, don't have to fiddle with clutch lever. So I'm going to make a pitch to WVRider, buy yourself a retirement gift!! You can ride in full manual mode controlled with paddle shifters.
Even saw a 4 wheel plane!! Last pic

Thanks for the tip Dave ! Nice to know. I'm still hoping for the manual transmission, however, you have me thinking more.
PS; my son and I saw that plane when we were there 3 years ago. Pretty cool !

The decision to keep the DIVA and purchase the 2025 XL750S Transalp proves to be a rewarding choice. This motorcycle is often underrated, yet it offers impressive specifications and features. It is powered by a 750cc twin-cylinder engine that can rev up to 10,500 RPM, delivering a peak horsepower of 90 HP. Riders will appreciate the distinctive growl of the engine as it is revved up. Additionally, the XL750S Transalp comes equipped with a stock quick shifter, which enhances the riding experience. The quick shifter can be self-initialized at the 600-mile service milestone.

I looked hard at the Transalp and the Kawasaki Versys. But both of them lack good weather protection and cruise control. All of my other “must haves” like heated grips, side cases, taller windscreen, etc can be added to both. The Versys shorter wheel base makes it a little quicker handling if that’s your preference. I think both are pretty good values and pretty comparable. But for now I’m keeping my Tiger.

The new Versys1000 /1100 (2019 and up) have both Cruise and quick shifter.

For sure the big Versys has most fo the goodies that make it a way more capable and comfortable motorcycle than the 650 and Transalp. But it is in a different class price wise, hp, weight, etc. The price and weight dissuaded me from buying one. But I gave it a good look.

Installed Lunasee side lighting on NT1100. Had done my previous 2 NT700. The Tupperware removal is really tough and hard to figure out, only had to remove 1 side panel to run both front wires on 1 side. How do I attach video?

Right now my NT1100 is sitting naked waiting for my Eastern beaver aux fuse power box. Yes the panels were difficult to get off after the fasteners were removed. Had to pull a bit harder than I liked but they did come off. Best tool for removes was trim tool from Harbor Freight.

I like the Fuzeblocks FZ1 the best. It has an integral relay and the positioning of the fuses allows each circuit to be tailored to either switched or unswitched power. I use the Littlefuse Smartglow fuses so at night if a fuse blows, it is instantly obvious. I also replaced the Phillips screws on the cover with thumbscrews so the cover can be removed without tools.

Ahhh... the joy of a new bike, learning where all the new gizmos are and what they do......

Interesting little development in Honda's oil sales department.

Need to do oil change after recent monster road trip, walked into local dealer to grab 1gal (4 qt) jug of GN4 for my bike. Was meet with newly designed 1qt bottles and a 5qt jug. (Cue Tim Allen "Home Improvement" puzzled noise) No 1gal jugs on the shelf. Honda has been doing the 4qt jug since beginning of time so this was a surprising.

Was informed by parts fella at the counter that Honda had recently discontinued 1gal jug in favor of this 5qt behemoth. Sure enough ... No 1gal shown available anymores. https://powersports.honda.com/pro-h...emium-conventional?partnumber=08232-M99-L8JA1

A little annoying, as my bike takes 4qts even, so the 1gal jug was super convenient. That left me buying 4 individual qt bottles. Walked out thinking "what an odd change, why would they do this?". Then realized why, it's you DCT folks with your oil glutton bikes. DCT NT1100 takes 4.4 qts, DCT Goldwing close to 5.

The NT1100DCT is the first bike I've had that uses as much (or more) oil than most of the cars I've owned. It's probably one reason for the extended oil change interval.

I ordered some gallon jugs of GN4 on ebay this past spring much cheaper than I could get locally. So I bought several. Might see if there are some available there or amazon.

The gallon jugs for gasoline engine vehicles are going the way of the Dodo bird. About the only gallon jugs that will be available will be for diesel engines. I guess the blenders have figured out that the 5qt jug is by far the most useful for gas engines in automobiles and light trucks. Motorcycles are just a tiny fraction of the market here in the US.

Rear tire change OEM @ 13,177 miles. Did run past wear bars as I usually do, could have run a few hundred miles more, but didn't, a trip to southern Ohio for late quick get together

Sure was great to see you Dave ! So glad I got to ride with you again this year. Will look forward to a May Gathering. I'll be planning some of that in the next couple months and will likely get back to posting it on here in case others want to enjoy some guided southeast Ohio and WV riding.
