Wanted Hand Deflector Kit #08P70-MEW-100

Russ, I think that they are like unobtanium. You might inquire on the UK forum about them. There was a gent who had molds made from his old deflectors and had a company who was able to make small quantities for a reasonable price. Deauville Owners UK. Hope this helps!

Mike

Well, there is a fella in Poland offering 3D print replicas for quite reasonable money...
But I still don't know how the import to the US would work out after the recent developments... 🤔

I recently obtained a set of ST1100 side deflectors (also discontinued/unobtainable) and they were top notch; excellent fitment and quality...

Now, if we could convince him to take on a pannier project, there would be a lot of folks in tall cotton!

If there is someone out there that could 3D scan the part(s), I am confident I could 3D print them. Wind deflectors 08P70-MEW-100 and even the pannier parts. Once I have the scans and convert them into a CAD file I can share them. FYI, I am new to this group. I will be picking up my new to me NT700V tomorrow.

I have a left side pannier lid that is undamaged. I would be willing to ship it to you to be scanned. I would like it to be returned when you are finished with it.

Mike, thanks, but I also have the same part. My issue is the scanning. I don’t have a scanner.

If anyone can get me the a 3D scan of these wind deflectors, I will be more than happy to get the scans ready for 3D printing. Or print them myself. Hopefully someone, know someone, who knows someone that has access to a 3D scanner.

I have a right side large lid that can be loaned out for scan if you want, once you get a scanner.

I am working on the wind deflectors. I may have a model that I can use to 3D print them. Can someone please send me some clear pictures of the deflector from as many angles as possible. This will give me an idea if the model is an exact/close match to the actual part. If everything matches I might be able to provide this part in the USA

GOOD NEWS. I have printed the wind deflectors and fitted them on to the fairing. They seem to be very close to the OEM part. Does anyone have a copy (PDF) of the OEM instructions. I would like to make these parts available to everyone and provide a kit just like the OEM part.

IIRC, there really wasn't much to the instructions other than remove mirrors to install Clean mounting area with adhesive remover or body solvent. The OE deflectors had 3M red trim tape applied to them already so all you had to do was peel and stick. If you have to reposition them you have a few minutes to do so. After 24 hours or so, fuggetabouit!

In storage, at the shed, inside the OEM knuckle deflector box...
Might take a few days to access and scan the pages...
The molded parts have recesses compensating the thickness of the 3M tape, so there no gaps to the fairing...

Good point! I had totally forgotten about that. I didn't notice that when I first installed them but when the trim tape finally surrendered to the heat and sun after 13 years I saw thw recess when I cleaned the old tape residue off the deflector.

Thank you, Thank you. If possible would you please take some pictures of the deflectors, especially making note of the recesses. Again Thank you. You can email me at dchg2022@gmail.com

Sorry to disappoint, dropped by the shed today, no deflector IM...
(got one for the knee-pads, the quartet-harness and the satnav kit though...)

As I'd ordered them NOS and the OEM packing arrived open, are there chances the document was missing from the beginning...
