Honda and LG to build Li battery plant in the US

Marysville has one auto plant that builds mainly Accords and perhaps some (?) Civics while another plant is in nearby East Liberty is building CRVs. Russell's Point, OH has a transmission factory and the engine factory is in Anna, OH about 45-min north of me on the western end of the state. I'm fairly certain that OH offers tax advantages for plants in different counties which is only fair. The problem with putting everyone in/near one town, such as Marysville, is the limited number of suitable workers available for expansion. As it is, Honda is the largest private employer in Central OH.

The factory in Greensburg, IN builds Civics and the plant in Lincoln, AL east of Birmingham, produces the large platform vehicles - Odyssey, Passport and Ridgeline - so it may be last in line for electric conversion? I'm not sure what they're building there now but there is a Honda plant in Alliston, Ontario, just across the river from Detroit and for a long time they built Civics for the US and Accords for Canada.

It will take time of course but at least some have taken the first steps to ending the madness of globalization of stratigic materials and systems. It is still hard to believe the US govt once relied on Russian rocket boosters.....chip factories take a long time to build, of course, but they are being built here. Without getting political, it is critical to realize who our allies are and help them to succeed as well as they helping us to beat the great forces of evil that surround us.
Fun factoid. When I was being shown the Korean War exhibit at the National Museum of Military Vehicles by the Museum Curator, he pointed out that the US was pushed back into a small corner of South Korea and we were down to only 200 Americans in country. Thats how close we came to loosing South Korea.

Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, some may even start production this year. Living in the North-East All but abandoned mills are a common sight. Electric power let us put up factories almost anywhere. Let's hope we figure this out.

Rivian is building a HUGE factory in Georgia and going to build their upcoming R2 vehicle there (vehicle details not announced yet). I think it's expected to begin production by 2025.

We had completed a long and bitter battle on 2 fronts in WWII and 4+ yrs later in 1950, the country had no stomach for another war. The Army and the Marine Corps were down to only a small number of regular units and a lot of reserves because the rest were demobilized after WWII ended. And many of those units were support groups and not combat units so they had to be converted quickly.

Love my Marysville-built Accord, best car I've ever owned! No problems at all in 60k miles, only maintenance, which I do myself, except for CVT service I leave that to the dealer.
