Meter Cover Removal

I can't get meter cover off. Followed tech manual , two screws out - then tabs are hanging up and pulling and gentle prying, not working. I've removed cowl pockets, mirrors,middle cowl lid, headlight under cowl, engine guard cover, side cover. I'm cautious-don't want to bust it up. Any ideas ? words of - How Not To do it ?
 
Pull harder - The tabs really hold it in well. You might want to jiggle onside first using your fingers to pry the tabs apart.
 
Thanks John - pull straight back towards rider ? - away from dash or up ? Still holding tight near the screw area and top edge of turn signal.
 
skiper-if you pull on the top of the dash, you can barely see the upper tabs by the turn signal, pull on it and take a jewler screwdriver and push the tab down. This worked for me. Look at it good when you get if off the first time and you will understand how it works.
 
Got meter cover off without breaking it .. thanks - onward and inward...
