Never Say Never....

OK, now I get it. I saw "Frosty" mentioned in a previous post but it wasn't clear to me as to why.

I guess I am late to this conversation. I traded my 2010 NT for a 2020 Triumph in Spokane. Phil has made a deal with the dealer to trade Dudley for my old bike.

When he picks it up, I am doing inventory in my garage just to avoid any confusion. :)

Rich's Custom did the seats on the NT and the BMW F800GT. Chris says he also does them for the WA State Patrol. He will do the Triumph at the end of the month.

It was sometime later that I added the swivel back rest from Utopia from a NT 700 kit. Rich will do a custom backrest, I just ordered the kit much later from Utopia and did it myself.

Let's talk about being late. I went to the bank today to get the NT's title out of our safe-deposit box. Guess what? You're right...it wasn't there. Hopefully, the Weld County DMV office is open tomorrow so I can get a duplicate title issued. If I have to do it on online, it probably won't get here until Wednesday or Thursday. So, I may be late getting to Spokane!

Chuck, I'll probably wait for the bike to talk to me. To tell the truth, I never quite bonded with the name "Dudley." My two C10 Connies told me their names and they always seemed to fit. The first one got named one day when I rode to the hospital here in Greeley and the wind was blowing hard. About the third tumbleweed that whacked me in my right leg, the bike said, "I'm trying to tell you my name..." and I realized that it was "Tumbleweed." The second bike said, "I'm Tumbletwo."

This bike should tell me between Spokane and home. 🤔 👍

I've only had two motorcycle names - "My Motorcycle" and "My New Motorcycle". I buy black ones so my wife never knows the difference. She just sees a black motorcycle.

Hmmmmm.... clever.... very clever....! What momma don't know won't hurt you! I like that!

Phil you missed my meaning. When do you think you will have the first Tipover Christening? 😊

LOL! I'll have you know that I haven't dropped a motorcycle since June 24. And before that I'd gone over 25 months without dropping one. So there!
Talk about tempting fate! 2020 hasnt exactly been a stellar year and he is tempting the fates already.

Whenever I get on a motorcycle (or even start to get on a motorcycle), I am tempting fate. Whether it's in 2020 or any other year.

Back when I had my first Concours, someone on our ListServe started the CDA (Connie Droppers Anonymous). You sent in the story of your drop and the CDA admin posted that story, gave you a CDA number and posted it all in a spreadsheet that showed your name as "Anonymous."

I was CDA # 16. By the time I got rid of my 2nd Connie for my now-old NT700V, I was CDA #16:a-m.

Maybe we out to start a DDA (Deauville Droppers Anonymous). Since Deauvilles had been made a long, long time before they started being imported to the US, I couldn't be DDA # 1, but maybe I could be DDA (US) # 1.

I laid mine gently onto the LHS in the campground after only having it for about 2 months. That was 8 years ago. Nothing since.
I had set up the tent and was rolling the bike closer to my site without the engine running. My left foot slipped out from under me on a loose stone and I went down slowly. No damage done.

Macka (DDA Oz #1?)

That's quite a record. I haven't kept count of the times I've dropped mine. Except for since I lowered the bike but didn't get the sidestand shortened enough. I think I'm at five since then. As far as I can remember, I laid it down twice on the Epic Ride and that I can blame on hard rain and the side-stand sinking into the mud at a KOA in Nova Scotia before I took the ferry to Newfoundland. Then I slipped on gravel and dropped it in a scenic overlook at Cap Rouge that overlooks the Gulf of St. Lawrence near the end of the Cabot Trail (if you ride it counter-clockwise). I've probably got another six or seven drops total. That would make me DDA (US) #1:a-m.

I shall not event tempt fate by discussing my SAD's.... sleeping dogs are better left at rest....

Phil - Congratulations!! Are you swapping the Russell Day Long seat too? Looks like you are good for another 150,000 miles!
Just spent the last few days installing a second set of driving lights under the mirrors on some small brackets I made. These are fog lights, so in addition to the first set, I can really light up the road at night and see any Bambis on the side of the road. Keep us posted and you'll love the MC Cruise.
