Ever since I moved west, rain hasnt been much of an issue. Any rain we got on a tour was usually handled by my riding gear. About once every 5 years I have to ride more than a few hours through rain.
I look back at what I used 40 years ago and laughed. And any rain gear I bought and put over it was bulky. Even though I just changed coats and cleaned and treated my riding pants and boots, I am going to try something.
There is a "thrifty" company named Wardler and they make rain suits that fit over your riding textiles. They are thin and light but dont take up much room either so I thought I would try them. Just in case I hit rain . They might be useful for other things as well. They do NOT have armor.
If a tour looks hot, I might even just use a ventilated coat and put this over it if it rains...I use fleece cold weather US military gear which I always carry to put under the main jacket. Keeps me warm.
I bought these big enough to fit over my gear. They are thick enough to not flop around in the wind. Nothing special but they do seem to repel water. Pen and magazine for reference.

How are these sized? I wear a L jacket size, do I buy a L one of these, or is XL needed to fit over my existing gear? This looks fantastic, especially for the money.

Wardler has good size charts for all their stull. For me, a Medium coat and large pants worked well.

Is Wardler a new company? Never heard of them before.
I assume from their low prices that they are import / Chinese?
Please review after wearing them for a while.
Thanks!
I think they are all the same company when you talk about inexpensive stuff. The names come and go.
I just bought a new hi viz ventilated coat from "Milwawke Leather" made in Packistan.
99 bucks plus 10 perceent discocunt and liner.
I really like it. Fits like a glove.
