NT1100 Trunk and Panniers

I wish I had a competent dealership. I bought mine on Feb 21st but since my dealership didn't put the order in as someone waiting for them, I didn't get mine on this release. According to Honda customer service, they didn't tag mine as urgent until today. This place sucks. I should have walked away as soon as they didn't have the bags on the bike.
What dealer? Honda of Troy got mine to me and we got our bikes around the same time.

Octane Outlet in Middletown. I regret ever walking in their door. The only reason I bought it there was because when I asked about the back order on the bags they said they could get them. I remember him saying them had them, but I'm giving the sales weasel the benefit of the doubt. To me it adds up to the same thing, since the question wasn't 'Can I get bags' but Are they on backorder.

I looked at the one you bought. However, I got a shady vibe from the sales staff and bought mine from Honda of Troy. Did it over the phone with the owner Dave. The whole process was a breeze. In less than a week they had my top case, blue panels and lock cylinders, the bags were on back order and he said as much before we completed the deal. He put some kind of notation on the order to indicate he had a new bike customer waiting for them. Everything about the deal was above board and comfortable.

The same thing goes for the parts and service departments.

Octane outlet claimed they couldn't do that, then yesterday they did. Of course, too late for me to get it from this batch and no word on the next batch. So yeah, shady as hell.

Last Friday I ordered everything from DSP Powersports in Barrington, IL. I picked it all up this morning EXCEPT the panniers. They are on backorder. I talked to them about the expedited delivery of backordered items, and it's called a "CBO" - Critical Back Order. When a shipment from Japan comes in, they fill the CBO orders first. They put my order on a CBO last week when I originally ordered. Great dealer!

For a dealer to submit a CBO they do have to objectively elevate the need from a standard parts order. Things they can place in CBO comments to do so are something like the bike is used for commercial purposes and provides a living for the owner or the owner is traveling and stranded far away from home. I was the parts manager in a Honda dealership in a previous life and ordered CBO on occasion. We assume that there’s a fair number of people waiting on panniers so the PM at DSP must have gotten creative.
