Shinko tires?

I ran Shinko tires on my old Honda Sabre - the forum judgment was high on that brand. I got around 8 to 10 k miles on the rear of that V4 700.

Anybody put Shinko tires on their NT700? I'm considering it. My rear Conti Motion has 9300 miles on it and can go a bit more, but will soon to be replaced.
I have been running Shinko 70x series on my NT700V since i think 2019 , ~5k miles and lots of tread left. No cracks etc. Always ran at the recommended tire pressure.

Bike is stable and easily falls into corners :) its a pleasure to ride and carve out the corners...

corrected the date :)

Is that Shinko a bias ply or radial?

2029 eh...? So do you have to hit 88mph on the NT to engage the flux capacitor to allow you go to 2029 to buy the Shinko's?

Just askin'...

Front is : Shinko 705 Dual Sport 120/70R17 58H TL ($82 in 2019, now 150
Rear is: Shinko 705 Dual Sport 150/70R17 69H TL : $92 in 2019 to $137 now

Both are radials.

Thanks! I would be looking for street tires, not dual sport.

LOLs...

These are designed as a 70% On-Road 30% Off-Road tire. So IMHO basically a decent road tire but can handle light gravel/mud.

They wont have the grip of proper street tires, but I have not really felt them lacking. Stable in straight line (no wandering), stable on curves and leans, and I have hit 105 mph (bike feels planted even at this speed) on them.

Not trying to convince you, just putting in my experience. I would not put them on my 130bhp/111nm Speed Triple, but they feel and work fine for the 65bhp/66nm NT700. NT does to have the power to overwhelm these tires.

Thanks for that I'll keep that in mind. How much life do you get out these on your NT?

Put them on in 2019, and now have ~5k+ on them. Plenty of tread left. I think they will go till 10k.

I put on a Shinko 005 radial 120/70zr17, on the front to try in June 2024, could not find correct size for rear, and that thing handled great, wore extremely well, put 9,898 miles on it, could have gone well over 10K, but had to change due to a big trip coming in June 2025. The test took me out west for 25 days, extreme heat in Utah, cold temps in CO, heavy rain in20230818_080849.jpg20230818_080840.jpg western CO, 38 miles of dirt road in New Mexico, speeds of 90mph on one short interstate run, and everything in between. I would have put another on however I had purchased a new set of Michelims from my nephew who had totaled his NT. I wish I could find a rear one the correct size. Just saying, fantastic tire. And the guys on here who know how I ride can tell you, not easy. 😁
