Tour Suggestion

That looks like a great suggestion. But I don't know if I could stand to be in TX for 3 months.
Ya, I know, I'll hear about that one!

Can I just do the whole thing in 2 weeks (I'll throw in Florida if Rick Scott is gone) and lounge around with Phil and some red wine the rest of the time?

Your idea sounds better to me, Bob! I'll buy the first jug of wine.

I'll buy the first jug of wine.

Buying wine by the jug is a sign of a true aficionado... The Mad Dog 20/20 I drank in my misspent youth comes to mind. :eek1: Now that I'm older and a true wine aficionado myself I always purchase my Sangria by the "jug"...with a screw cap! :rolleyes1:

LOL! I've actually quit buying jug wine, because my wife doesn't think I drink as much if I buy it in the 1.5-liter bottles. I do, the same-sized single glass every night, but I spend more. I've been drinking Yellowtail Shiraz, Cab-Merlot, and Cab-Shiraz most of the time. I may go back to Carlo Rossi and just decant it into 1.5-liter bottles.

Only the good stuff :)

That tour reminds me of snowbirds. They get in their RVs and move to warm weather for winter. Others do travel much like the map. Moving when the weather gets bad to another location.

I'm with Bob. Just go for it.

I talked to some guys on a bicycle tour once who said that their strategy was to always go downwind. When they woke up, they'd check the predicted wind for the day and head downwind till it was time to stop for the night. When the time for their tour ran out, they'd call their wives and the women would come to wherever they were and pick them up.

Having done bicycle tours that always seemed to be going into the wind, I thought that was a pretty good idea.

A proposal: forget the grand tour, been on enough for two lifetimes (although the TAT still beckons). Let's all just descend on Phil's house. I'll bring the 32oz mason jars.

Great idea Bob!!! I'd make that trip for sure. And I know where he lives. That event might generate a record trun out - and possibly some other less socially acceptable results too.

Well, bearbait, your first tour suggestion took a left turn right off the starting line, and this one has that potential too.

I like motorcycling and I like beer, but I don't like them together. I'm not sure I could ever compelete this last suggestion. There are far too many beer stops and I know there are a lot more not on the exact route too. I'm sure I'd become distracted.

I've considered going to Germany and buying a BMW and touring their country and sampling their beer. But then reality hit me. I continue to be amazed at the places my brain takes me to during the long winter.

The beer tour would be great, but it would take many days because I don't drink then ride. A couple beers after a good ride really hits the spot!!

Well in that case, maybe we could make that tour together. But be advised, I have a reputation for deviating from planned routes - often.

In 2003 my buddy and I bicycled from Florence, Oregon to Bar Harbor, Maine. I know about deviating...and we would probably come back full blown alcoholics!! It's fun to think about anyway.
