Yesterday I rode an NT700V today I ride a Deauville....

The big red lids are a slightly different color. Most people don't notice. It may be that the red is more prone to fading so the bike itself is actually a different color due to sitting in the sun a lot.
That said I will NEVER go back to the small lids. WAY too much utility/space for stuff with the big lids to even notice that they may be a slightly shade of red
 
When I got the large lids I thought i would only use them for long trips. After taking my first trip with them I never took them off. Since I can not legally lane split the extra width does not really make much difference.
