Wow. How are we ever going to live with you now???
I suppose you’ll be camping at the Holiday Inn too.
Congrats. . Enjoy!!!
Yup, he ain't gonna speak to us mere mortals no more 😉. Nice looking scoot! If I was younger, I too would be tempted to take the plunge. I still have a BMW itch that ain't been scratched.

Nice bike!:) My R1100R was one of the most pleasant to ride bikes I've ever ridden. It wasn't as pleasant when the dealer was involved as their pricing could turn me in to a peasant... 🙄

Hoo boy! QUAD headlights! Now that’s classy.
By the way, did you pick it up in Paris, or just pass through?
Got it from a dealership near Houston, they delivered it. Saturday was my 1st ride, 260 miles and Paris was just a place I knew would make a good picture.

IF I was younger, richer, and stronger, that's the bike I would love to have. The R1200RT was absolutely the most comfortable and ergonomically correct bike I've ever ridden. Enjoy!

Congrats. You know what BMW stands for, right?

Cause you’re going to need it every time you visit the dealer for any service.

Jim Jones would be proud of you for drinking the Kool-Aid…🤣

You will find out you will need a CAN Bus interface to do much of the electronic interfacing probably through a PC.

Aftermarket units used to interface with the CAN Bus that BMW uses are quite costly.

I’m just warning you as I do believe every service requires interface with the bikes electronic network. That’s the impression I have been getting and I’m just saying…

Either way, I wish you luck. Let us all know your experience with this bike.

Yup...took a big drink.. R1250RT...
Heretic!! Burn him on a stick!! 😏

Not a fan of the oversized, Transformer style front fairing...
And I find LED stuff quite dazzling, hence annoying...

But even STeinar runs some Beemers and seems happy with them so far...
(besides the lack of alternatives... the NC1100? Nah! Doesn't even have a rear fender...)

Lots of replies here telling you how badly you screwed up by buying aBMW. New is always nice. I don't have any BMW experience so I can't offer any feedback except to say it's beautiful and I hope you have a long journey together. What I hear about them is, yes they are expensive and, yes they go forever. Enjoy.

Her name is Gretel and she is about as complicated as a garden tractor (plus she has a shaft drive too).

My advice re: electronics is: keep it clean but never use a pressure washer on it. Also, keep a battery tender connected when you aren't riding it.
