Back on topic: I still think that Nylon/Polyamid seem most durable... maybe riveting/bolting plates onto steel skids...
All the "commercial" plows around here have like steel legs with plastic boots as contact patch sticking out the bottom; apparently consumables/wear parts that get replaced when worn thin...

I've one pair for "quickly running out into the garden and do small $h!t" like replenishing the bird-feeder...
For actual work I prefer boots with laces though...

An excellent plastic for wear surfaces could be ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW).
Available at Cadillac plastics nationwide. Actually wears better than steel.
