Heel toe shifter.

Has anyone come up with a mod for a heel toe shifter? Having a problem with the upshift due to an ankle injury.
 
I don't recall that being discussed much here... But I do know the Kuryakyn GoldWing passenger floor boards work on a NT. So I'd look for a GoldWing heel and toe setup, like this one, and see if it would work as my starting point.
 
The NT has a shift arm forward of the footpeg vice the rotating shifting shaft coming out of the engine/transmission case near the footpeg as usually seen on bikes with heel toe shifters. I wonder if by adjusting the length of the tie bolt between the pedal and the shift arm, the location of the gearshift rubber would change to a position more comfortable for you to upshift?
 
Thanks for your input. I was hoping to modify the the shift arm under and behind the stock foot peg.
