G'Day,

riding ST1100 since '92 (currently owning two)

bought a '07 NT700VA with 36K-km for my GF this January (which she seems to like as she won't get off it anymore ;))
did a full service (valve check, fork overhaul, all fluids, filters, spark plugs, new brake pads, front wheel bearings, bone dry drive splines, loose carrier stay, etc...)
GIVI screen cut to her height (only 2-step adjustable on the '07; the expensive OEM screen went into storage)
powered GPS cradle
2-way radio
PUIG belly pan
pannier lid scuff set
wind deflector kit to be installed next

And these days a friend of mine, who owns an ST1300, as well got himself a low mileage, well kept '14 NT700VA

Welcome ST1100Y, to the NT Forum. You will find the folks here are quite friendly. A little bit of a smaller group then over on ST-Owners.

When I owned both a ST1300 and a NT700 together at the same time. I renamed / badged my NT as a ST700 and then went to the dealer to confuse them. As they never saw a ST700 before. Lots of fun.

Intend to ambush my friend, who has the 1300 + a newly acquired NT700VA with those decals... :sneaky:
Dropped a line to info@callie-graphics.com , but haven't heard back yet...

After having KMW (Kawasaki Motoren Werke) green and white roundels on my two '99 Concours(es?), I bought my first NT700VA in March of 2010. I rode it to the Concours Owners Group National Rally in Tomah, Wisconsin and, lo and behold, the guy who sold the KMW roundels had two red and white HMW roundels. I bought them. When I traded Dudley (NT #1 for me) for Horse (NT #2), I had Callie make me more HMW roundels. I had like Chuck's idea of ST700 decals, and had Callie make me some of those. I ordered another pair of stickers from her last week, this time a pair of "My Local Riding Area" decals. Bill Thweatt, a "big dog" in the Iron Butt Association had made a bunch of My Local Riding Area merchandise back in the early 2010s -- hats, t-shirts, decals. I had his big decals on my NT when I did my 2013 Epic Post-Retirement Ride. I had bought some of his smaller decals when I bought Horse, but it turns out that 10-year-old decals don't separate from their backing very easily. I couldn't get them apart and Bill gave me permission to have Callie make me a pair of those if I didn't try to sell them. I ordered a pair from Callie last week and she told me it would be about five weeks before she could get them out to me. So, it sounds like she's got a lot of work to get done. The HMW roundels took just a bit over a week from the time I ordered them till I got them.

These are the large version of the My Local Riding Area decals. I'm having Callie make me smaller ones in black and I'll put them on the top of the big lids.

Either this or a lock-down issue...
I'd opted for two sets (postage for a letter can't be a problem, ordered quite some stuff from the US in the past), I'll just wait a couple of days...

If you don't hear from her, let me know exactly what you want and I'll get them from her and mail them to you.

In one of the pictures you posted, the one showing the inside of the driven flange, everyone can see the thrust washer, i.e. the part that gets left out by inattentive techs and causes water to get into the splines. Ask me how I know this.

Don't remind me...
PO & inattentive mechs did not care much about lubrication there, everything dry, O-rings vanished/turned to dust, hub dampers and aluminum bushings worn... :cautious:
Fortunately some ST1100 parts do fit, all cleaned and properly lubed with Gn-Plus during my service act...
Alone that the (aftermarket) brake pads where inserted the wrong way...
OTOH was I kinda expecting such on a used motorcycle... and I didn't want to risk putting my GF on an unsafe, unreliable bike... hence I checked everything... :sneaky:

Thanx, but all said and done
She'll happily ships me two sets over (y)
I felt like she'd come through for you. She's good people.

I'm glad that you were able to do a thorough inspection and service of the bike.

When did the NT700VA quit being manufactured? We only got two years ('10 and '11 -- although some '11s that weren't sold were called '12 models).

Interest, care, mechanical background, the issues in finding skilled motivated mechs these days, being fortunate of having rented a man-cave together with a friend where we can wrench and store our rides... the peace of mind of having done everything properly is priceless...
Next item there will be a full sized, pneumatic tire mounting machine... (with our female partners we're 4 people and 10 motorcycles...), as I'm fed up with scheduling, logistics and costs of getting tires replaced at a shop (they charge at least 1 hour of labor, don't lube the drive splines, cross-thread or strip bolts, etc... )

Production years of the NT700 were 2006 till 2012...

I had thought '14 was the last year of manufacture. Make up your mind! :p

I just looked in Google and they say that it production ended in '13.

Do you remember where in Spain the Deauville was built? And, it seems to me that one or two of the last years they were built in Italy. Do you know if that's right? If it is, do you know whose old factory was used?

Well observed, but there is MFG date vs date of initial registration ... ;)
apparently it was at a dealer/in storage for two years prior being sold...
Would need to check his VIN plate to ID the exact MFG year, month and plant...

My GF/partner however has a true '07, build and registered...

Wiki states Montesa plant...
Possible that its predecessor NT650V had some batches assembled at the Atessa plant Italy; Honda had a number of models made there, but stopped some over quality issues...
