The seal is on the inside so can't be easily replaced as is done with fork seals. At the Showa factory, after the shock is filled with oil & bled, the top/w seal is welded on so disassembly takes surgery and getting the top back on or installing a new top is not a simple procedure. Some places claim they can rebuild these shocks but it makes me wonder about the cost?
