11am 7/18. Sunny and 65. Near Alberton Mt. Note USFS campground at rest area. No pirates so far. A few adv bikes. Headed for Three forks MT.

Deer Lodge 1:40pm. 75 and sunny. Light traffic. Some sport tourers and pirates with helmets and mufflers. 45 mpg at 80 mph and 80 lb load. Prices at McDonald's oddly low.

Actually, its not. Not geared for wheelies. Perhaps I did pack too much alchohol...but I aint giving up my glamplng gear...

Pack up 10 pounds of that cool Montana weather and bring it to “sunny New Mexico”. We had well over 90 degrees today. Unusual for this elevation. Waiting for the monsoon rains to kick in and cool it off.
