You are very correct with your statement regarding the biggest downside!!
As someone else recently said, each to his own! I personaly won't knowingly buy CHI COM period! Yes, I will acknowledge they have done a good job copying other items such as their version of the Russian AK47etc. I prefer American, or European and then Asian in that order, depending on where I can get the best support from as well as quality. I truly believe when a better helmlet than the current Schuberth is built , that it will be by them!
Perhaps my mind-set is warped and a bit brainwashed but it has had over 75 years in it's building, and I don't think it will be changing in the next 25 years or so.
I will say with regard to bikes available now that the FJR is what I would buy today if I were in the market for another new road bike in the sport touring design.
