The UK Puts a Date on the Death of Combustion Engine Bikes
The end of the UK-made internal combustion bike isn’t here, but it’s just over the horizon.
The prefecture of Tokyo, which includes that mega-city, already passed a law around two years ago to ban ICE vehicles by 2035 which has caused all the Japanese auto makers to speed development of practical electric cars. Ostensibly for those same reasons, Honda ended its full-time involvement in Formula 1 in 2021 with most of the engineers being moved to electric vehicle development but they will continue to supply engines to Red Bull Racing until 2025 thanks to a freezing of the engine specs. Strangely, the engines are NOT badged as "Honda" although fully from Honda Racing in Japan.
