Chris - my 2021 650 V-Strom did have the McCruise system installed on it from the previous owner. Worked very well. I miss it. He had the dealer install it. Cha ching $$$.
Did I see no cruise control? Idiots! Fu**ing idiots! They have all these bizarre features like the headlight following the road in a lean and they very purposely refuse to put on a cruise control! Ride by wire and no cruise control! Bags, centerstand, roll bars and this is my bike. Givi wind screen. 31 in seat height and light weight and launch assist are all great. Take my money! It will be too late for my lifetime but if they hold a US focus group with other than egg plants, this bike with the right options would fly off the dealer shelves. So sad but I bet later they come out with a better bike. So sad. My hands are so old they go numb holding a broom....I want cruise. Even with the McCruise installed, it may work. And it matches my helmet.
It would be worth the 1500 or so on the new Vstrom. If they come out with a kit. For the 2o27 Vstrom 650. My guess is its gonna take them awhile to develop the kit.Chris - my 2021 650 V-Strom did have the McCruise system installed on it from the previous owner. Worked very well. I miss it. It is my hope they do...and Givi builds sane bags that dont come up to your shoulder level. If they made this bike with a tad bigger engine still with no vibration, add Cruise, dropped their flawed 800 from the lineup, they could make serious dents in the HOnda and Triump Lineup. However, if the SV-7GX is ride-by-wire there is a good chance that Veridian Cruse will build a unit for it.
Cruise control that I put on the 2010 NT. Mine was vacuum powered (design later changed to an electric servo motor) that mechanically was connected to the throttle body pulley. It did not track a specific speed but increase/decrease/ resume from velocity when set. Worked good except at high speeds when vacuum limited. Not overly complicated to install if you followed the good detailed instructions. Its pretty clever how they do it with a cable to servo to cable. Not exactly sure but I suppose there is a box that taps into the speedo input. $900 USD plus tarriffs, etc. I think I will stick with my throttle lock. (Dont breath the smokey air, my friend.)
Arghhhhh! I have been horn swaggled. Today, Fex EX charged me an additional $48 US for Customs and disbursement. They said they charged me after the fact to speed delivery. May their beds be filled with the dung of a 1000 camels! When I buy stuff from overseas on ebay, it says it will not charge me any hidden addtional charges......I am still ahead but buying overseas now has much less of an appeal.Price with shipping was $420 UD. Revzilla price is $500 plus 9.2 percent WA pirate tax. Even if you could get this color. Which you can't.
I put a Vaccum one on my old dearly departed Isuzu trooper. The vaccum reservoir was big enough to handle changes and it wasnt very expensive. There was no can bus and there was no integration with a module of digital sensors/ input outputs like brake and clutch position. Occasionally, it would stick in the set position so I would have to stop the engine, stop the vehicle, and go under the hood and free things up. Not very safe. I assume they are expensive now cause of legalities. Back in the 50s, how many of your cars had cruise controls? Now, how many 2026 cars dont have them?Cruise control that I put on the 2010 NT. I have been thinking about this bike more. Thanks to Chuck for pointing it out. Shame on my lame number 2 Suzuki dealer for not doing that. Unless it has a rear brake that actually works, unlike my 2017, it is a no go with pirate fees, assembly and shipping, titleing, etc. And all the needed options.Just wait for this one to hit the US later this year or early next. It look promising and could replace my 2013 V-Strom 650.
