Mind me asking what they charged? Mine needs the 600 mile checkup and I was curious.
$360 including parts and labor for the valve adjustment and the oil change.

My oil filter, oil and crush washer costs $56 here.
Not for me Phil. Wet clutch.
Right. I know that. The stuff without "Energy Conserving" on it has the metallic additives that wet clutches need to survive.
Used those oils for 115,000 in my 1st Connie -- clutch was as good as the day I rode it home when I wiped out everything in front of the clutch. Well, maybe not as good, but functionally, I couldn't tell any difference.
BTW, this could turn into an argument. I have stated my opinion. You have stated yours. I respect your opinion. So, I'm going to back on out of here now.
Just got the Plug caps replaced it took about thirty minutes. Rear cap reached from under the seat, front cap reached via radiator reservoir side panel. More to follow on performance differences after I ride it some more. The NT Bulletin did say "Units affected ALL 2010 NT-700V, 2010 NT-700VA" and also "change parts on all dealer stock prior to delivery".
Here is a copy of the bottom of my receipt... Hope this may help!
Well, I told my dealer that I know my bike is out of warranty and therefore, while obviously I'd like to get this for free, I'd be happy to buy the parts if that's what it takes. They said if it's needed they'd get it for me for free, regardless. So they looked it up in their computer, and said I don't need them. When I pressed, they printed it out for me and encouraged me to go ahead and check them for myself. I still have the plastic off, but it was 30 degrees here today and I was out and about for most of the day. I'm not going to heat up the garage now, but I will do it in the morning. I need to finish that valve adjustment anyway.
If you want to proactively deal with it rather than waiting for it to fail, you could open your bike up and check if you have the new parts, and if you do, you're all set. If you can change spark plugs you can change these. If you don't have the new parts, you could fight the dealer for them, and if you still can't get them, then just buy the darned things and get it over with so you can stop worrying. Two of these things at $12 apiece is not such a fortune that it's worth waiting for the possible failure and wondering about it all the time.
I also think that saying I would pay for it if I had to, got them to sit up and cooperate more. It established me as someone serious about avoiding the possible problem, instead of just some demanding clueless whiny person who'd heard rumors of free stuff.
