Where are the NT650/700 owners in Australia?

I like the long posts describing why folks have and like their NT Deauville - as this is my first bike , it helps me know what it is I have..

Hey "Horizon", I too am in the S and SE suburbs of Melbourne. I have only ever seen one other NT on the road. It was a black one like mine and I was passing through Boronia area at the time about 8 month ago. If you are interested I would like to catch up sometime/somewhere.

I definitely think us Melbourne riders should meet up sometime. I am very new to this forum

Jim, you might be the first to 100,000 miles -- it's only 162,000km. Keep me posted on your mileage so I can get the 100K stickers made in time.

I saw a very weathered looking NT700V when I was staying at the Marion Hotel in Adelaide last month - it was parked near a supermarket across the road from the hotel and, from recollection, it had an MC Cruise cruise control fitted to it.

Hi there,
Sorry for the late and probably long post. I haven't been on the forum for a while and didn't even know that we now have an Aussie section!
I live in the SE Melbourne area, up in the Dandenong Mountains and I have only owned two bikes, a Honda CBR250r and the NT700v Deauville.
My father was my inspiration as he used to reminisce about the days when he used to ride. He had quite a few bikes, but the one he was most fond of and always liked talking about was his Honda CX500. This made him a Honda fan, which in turn made me one.

I always wanted to get a bike, and when my wife told me to go and get one instead of upgrading the car, I went right out and got my CBR.
Although the CBR was a pretty good bike, as I was a daily rider it showed me what I wanted in a bike - Low end power, storage, protection from the elements, easy slow traffic riding and minimal maintenance.
It was actually this forum that made me realise that I wanted a Deauville, as I was searching for a middleweight tourer with shaft drive and stumbled upon the Deauville. After reading comments on here, I was sure this was the bike for me.
I bought her 2 - 3 years ago and have racked up around 60,000 k's so far. I ride daily to and from work carrying all I need for work, plus the extras I may need if the weather conditions change etc.
Although I have gone on the occasional trip, I have 2 young children, so getting time to enjoy going away with the bike is minimal.
I love how easy it is to ride and how well it handles. She might not be as quick as most sports bikes, but I don't have any trouble keeping up with them up here on the twisty mountain roads.

Things have gone full circle now because my Dad is now looking at getting back into riding and wants to go out with me whenever possible.
Originally he was looking at getting a BMW R1150RT but found it a bit heavy and difficult to manage at low speeds, especially after riding my bike. Now I have talked him around to getting a Honda but he is thinking of getting an ST1300. I'm still working on it though, he may end up with a Deauville too!

Well guys, it has now been 6 months since the last post here. Does anybody want to meet somewhere before the silly season arrives. I would be intersted in forming an "NT" riding group if others are interested.

Remember that I am in the SE suburbs of Melbourne.

Hi Guys, I’m way up north in Mackay, Queensland just south of Airlie Beach & Whitsunday Islands. Bought a low km 2007 NT700v last year and new to this forum. My riding tends to be Sunday rides with Ulysses friends and a recent 6 day “Wild Hogs”ride to Cooktown and back. Looking forward to sharing riding stories, tips and tricks.

Just thought I would make the first post in the Australia/NZ section to try and find out where all the members from Australia are located geographically.

Just post your state and suburb or general area.

I am in Wilberforce NSW

Looking for recommendations for tyres and suppliers around the hawkesbury, do you have any? Thanks

I always remove the wheel and take it to Hawkesbury Honda, whom I find to have very good prices for tyres (and are one of the few places in the area that own a wheel balancer).

There is a motorcycle shop at Nth Richmond, MRD, who is getting good reports from the members of the Macquarie Towns Motorcycle club. I am still to check them out.

Pauls in Richmond is probably the dearest place I have found for tyres in the area.

Thank you for your advice and experience that youve had with honda. What brand of tyres are you using at the moment, do you have a preffered brand

I put a Pirelli Angel GT grand tourism on the rear early last year. I have been very happy with the tyre even though I have probably only done a couple of thousand Km’s.

I need to replace the front tyre shortly, still the original, but not sure what I will get, maybe a Michelin (not pilot road) as I like the way they handle and how long they last.
