Just looked at the numbers for Israel. Absolutely incredible job of vaxing people. In a few days, you will be able to count their daily deaths on one hand.....I am so proud of Pfizer and all the other vax makers....

I had no reaction to either dose of Pfizer.

I was looking forward to some more extensive riding this summer after COVID interrupted my riding last summer. But with the variants that are emerging, the continuing unknown characteristics of COVID, CDC continued mask recommendation, the refusal of people to get vaccinated, and who knows what CDC recommendations and local restrictions will apply this summer my riding plans remain uncertain. I now plan one-step-at-a-time. I think that's what I posted last year.

Let me chime on the vaccination subject.
I have a qualifying pre-existing condition and a doctors recommended to get the shot before anyone flys off the handle.

I got my fist shot 1.5 weeks ago of the Pfizer COVID vaccine. The next day I had serve injection site soreness and fatigue all day long. I worked from home and I was having a hard time to stay focused and awake all day. I took a nap after work and I felt a lot better after waking up from that nap.

Had my first Moderna back in January with no side effects. The second round of Moderna gave me a day of the "chills" and a low grade fever. That lasted about 24 hours and I was fine after that. Last week I received my second pneumonia shot and that one had me snoozing in my recliner for the rest of the day. Here in Georgia the vaccine was opened up to anyone over 16 last week. We have a large number of anti-vaxers around here so the state is routing most of the vaccines to the major metro areas where folks are wanting to take it.

Saw on the news that the J&J version hit a bump due to production issues.

The sore arm at the injection site only lasted 1 day for me. It looks like everybody's different with regards to reactions. Still better than getting Covid.

If anyone has had the shingles vaccine that also is a two part shot. Everybody that I talked to said that one usually had a reaction to the second shot but I was lucky once again and had no issues. Maybe my old body got acclimated to being a pin cushion in the USMC and an occasional shot now and then doesn't faze it.

I've been thinking about getting that, Mike. I guess maybe I ought to. I'm not too worried about reactions. But it's not covered by my insurance and I haven't wanted to spend the money.

We had the old shingles vax and then the new one. We were prepared for side effects for the second series but no problems.....

We dont talk politics here but at the rally I am getting on my high horse and spouting off about medicare supplimental/HMO medical insureance, so bring ear plugs. Vaxes are a no brainer...this is what happens if you get shingles in your eyes. https://www.healthline.com/health/eye-health/shingles-in-the-eye

There are so many anti vaxers and those with "Vaccine hesitancy" here that they have to keep lowering the age to get the vax in arms or loose future doses. Mark my words. In six weeks, anyone who wants a shot can get one...same day.....AND...I think you will be able to shop around and get the one you want. J and J or Pfizer/Moderna. You heard it here first.

I hope that the feral govt goes the Israel route and has a vax passport for travel, etc. That pushed everyone over the edge there and they are approaching less than 5 deaths a day. Sure, a new variant can come along and take hold...or a new covid -3 could come along....but I dont have many years left...I am gonna ride. And look for outdoor cafes.

Only one nap? I took two each! That told me the old immune system still works.....now that its the under 50 crowd that is going into the hospitals, I am gonna travel....just not on airplanes yet. Real masks are now available though.

I have had both pneumonia vaccines, both Shingles vaccines, a flu vaccine and in the last several weeks both Moderna vaccines. The only side affects I have had were a very sore arm with the second Shingles vaccine and a very sore arm and fatigue with the second Moderna vaccine. My 33 year old son had no side effects with the first Moderna but had a fever, headache and chills with the second. Missouri has not been at the forefront in getting the COVID vaccines out. I finally found an appointment at a Walgreens in St. Louis city which is about 30 minutes away. Since getting my first shot five weeks ago I have received multiple appointment offers from the 6 places I had registered. I guess things are finally speeding up and it’s getting closer to day that everyone that wants a vaccine will be able to get one. I would not be surprised if they start offering gift cards to the stragglers to get more shots in arms.

Round Two of the Shingles isn't covered by Medicare or my Tricare For Life (TFL) secondary insurance. And my Primary Care Doctor can't give it as the group he belongs to won't do it. But it is only $10 at my local Publix pharmacy. Right now I need to hold off a bit longer since I recently got my Round Two of the Pneumonia series. And Publix is staying busy giving Covid-19 shots...I don't want another one by accident!

My wife scared me into the shingles shot. She said that she has seen many older patients at the hospital with shingles and it ain't pretty. She has an acquaintance that got shingles a few years ago who was in her fifties and she was sick for along time. I figgered, what the hell, what's two more shots?

I know. I know one woman who had her case for months and months.... My secondary insurance paid for them, and all the pneumonia shots....

I am finding out this year what a hodge podge of coverage various insurances are for old people. I made the mistake of going with a Medicare HMO this year. I can switch back to something else in December. I loved my old coverage of Regence for $300 a month as a medicare secondary...I never paid an extra dime...till they sent me a letter saying, "Oh by the way, we no longer consider your kaiser Permanente doctors "in network". You guessed it. Insurance company wars. So I thought i would try the Kaiser Perrmanentee Medicare HMO for $170. All my meds have gone up and If I want to see a specialist, I need a letter of authorization, renewed every six months. Did I mention my medicare card is no longer valid? If I tried to use it, it would be kicked back. And my wonderful eye doc isnt "in network". So i have to pay cash to see him.....grrrrrrrrr.....

For all its faults (and there are some) I do love our health care system in the UK - free at point of use, just paid for over time with general taxes and medical needs dictate treatment not status or financial position. Oh and we do seem to be doing quite well at giving out vaccines as well and there are relatively few anti vax groups over here too. Please send sunshine and warmth though......

I got my Shingles vaccine after I had a case of Shingles. Fortunately I detected it early and got a shot for it within 12 hours of showing symptoms. Due to the shot mine was a relatively mild case on my right shoulder and chest. It did migrate to my underarm which ended up itching to no end.
