I finally got past 96,000 miles today. I'm guessing that this last 1,000 miles has taken me longer than any other since I bought the bike. Between weather (with ice in the alley) and maintenance issues, it's taken 3 months and two weeks.

RustInPeace and WoodAddict are also closing in on 100K, too. Who will get there first and who will get the first-ever 100K sticker? Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion.

I'm thinking that for me it'll happen in May (if not before!). I've got the Team Lyle Strange Rachel Days Insanity in mid-May. It's nearly 800 miles out there, add 1524 for the Rally, and probably over 1,000 miles on the way back and I'll be there.

Is there anybody else getting close?

good,,,,, a post dedicated to the elusive 100K, and I will try for 200K or as much as I can. Previous best was on a PC800 165K. I'm at 96,545. only missed 2 work days in January, 1 for ice and 1 for truck to get some hardwood near work. 2 days in Jan were 9 and 12 degrees, juts this past Thursday was 19. warmer with some rain for coming week could be a low around 20 for Friday, will get another full week in. target date for 100K is April
............to add......... on March 14 scheduled to ride a SS1000 with mostly some BMW riders. they have a route all in NC except very tiny out of state somewhere. will be fun. that will be easy for me, road 740 miles in about 11:30 down to Florida. plus I work 3rd shift all the time and easy for me to stay awake at night.

Good point, David! The 100K sticker, like the 50K sticker is for the bike, not the rider. The bike doesn't have to have the same owner for the whole distance, either. All that's required is that the odometer on the subject bike reaches the milestone.

Looks to me like you're the odds-on favorite to get the very first 100K sticker! Keep rolling safely, my friend!

this week is the first time that I have confirmation that I passed Phil in total miles. I have been trying for 2 yrs, get close, like 2,000 to 5,000, then he takes a big post retirement tour and adds 21,000 miles in like 71 days. then last year got within about 3,000, then he takes a 6,000 mile summer trip. Winter is hard to ride out there in the mountain areas, if it was summer and we had this 100K to achieve, Phil would be out there winning it right now. I think he going to sneak a way to win, after all he is our NT-forum Godfather!!!

I've only got 88,643 miles on my 2011 NT700V. But if I added the mileage on my 2013 Honda CRF250l that I purchased 6 months after the NT I already have over 100,000 miles between the 2 bikes.

I think i'm probably going to place 3rd in the race to 100,000 since it probably won't happen until sometime in June.

I'm also thinking about buying a Yamaha FJR1300 so I might sell the NT before it hits 100,000 miles.:shrug2:

Oh, well. You pays your money and you makes your choices.

If I were taller, richer, and younger, an FJR would be an irresistible temptation.

I may end up with enough extra 100K stickers to cover my beat up old bike in them. :)

Phil I just turned 25 last month I'm probably one of the younger members on this forum and the NT was an upgrade from my previous bike a Honda Rebel.
So i'm just beginning to start my motorcycle career and I think a Yamaha FJR1300 is going to be my next bike.
The only problem is that I don't know when I will be able to afford one.:(

After listening to my older friends rave about their FJRs, I'm sure you'll enjoy one when you get it. I saw Chuck (Chucksklrst on the Forum) Henderson's new '14 on Friday and it is an absolutely gorgeous machine. He had the seat in the high position and I touched the ground just like I do on the NT -- one foot flat and the toes on the other just touching the ground. But, as nicely as it balanced, it was definitely heavier and with my five knee replacements, that's a huge factor for me.

I think you're very fortunate to have discovered motorcycling at your age. My first ride was on a '69 CB750 (their first year) that a church member in Texas came to show me and then insisted I go down the road on it. I rode it about ten miles and tried to convince my wife that I needed a motorcycle. She said, "We don't do motorcycles!"

Finally, in '98 (the day after she moved out) I bought my first bike, an '83 Honda GL650i Silverwing, a 650cc transverse V-twin that converted me to touring and longer distance riding from the cruiser I had learned to ride on in the fall of '97.

Ride for many years, my friend! If you stick with it, you can be an old fogey too!

It's very reassuring to read this type of thread. My bike has only just passed 40,000 and it gives me some comfort to know we will be together for some time to come given regular maintenance.

I hope to get to the 50,000 milestone by the end of the summer. I'm thinking a tour of Scotland might be in order, that should get rid of 2,500 miles or so.

gbrand42, send me your mailing address when you reach that 50K mark and I'll send you one of the semi-coveted 50,000 mile stickers.

Naw. Keep a few for those of us who will eventually get there. I bought my NT new one year and nine months ago, and have 29,000 on it. Sure - I have a long way to go, but I'll get there.

those coveted 50,000 stickers, well, they are extra special when hand delivered by Phil to me here in NC. ask him to ride over to UK. he did ride over in Europe a few years back and he can do it for you too!!

that warm Colorado weather turned up here Sunday (69)! missed an opportunity to gain some more on Phil by taking a nice warm ride somewhere, but I was doing what my screen name says. being a woodaddict, working on remodeling master bathroom

By the way - for those of you who have 50k and 75k stickers, where do you put them on your bikes?

Pictures, please. :)

I currently have the 50,000 mile sticker and one other sticker still in a zip lock bag because I can't decide where to put the stickers.:shrug2:

P.S. Woodaddict in your second photo what is that below your right turn signal just to the right of the top of your license plate?
